James A. Michel Jr. was raised on a local farm near Worland and has worked in the Big Horn Basin his entire life. Jim was involved in both 4-H and FFA prior to graduation from Worland High School.
After graduation, Jim continued his educational pursuits at NWCC in Powell and then onto the University of Wyoming where he received his Masters Degree in Agricultural Engineering. Jim returned to the family farm for several years prior to attending Law School at the University of Wyoming.
Jim returned the Big Horn Basin to practice law in Thermopolis, first with Messenger and Jurovich, PC, and then with Messenger and Overfield, PC, for several years.
During that time, Jim’s practice has focused on business formation, business succession planning, estate planning and real estate transactions but has also included other issues that often arise in production agriculture.
Jim hopes to help individuals preserve the aspects of the Wyoming lifestyle and activities that he and others have always enjoyed about living in the area.
